The cars available as Exec. Elite are all cloth seated, two wheel drive. I have never rented a car that I needed to clean myself. Over the past four months, my company has had me renting from National at the Hartford Airport. Every car or truck I have received has been VERY dirty inside and out. The "elite" cars are all mini-vans or low-end cross overs. I had to pay extra for something with all-wheel/4 wheel drive in the New England winter. Perhaps other National locations are better, but I would NOT recommend renting from this location.
I rent a car every week. Maintenance at this location is sorely lacking. The last 2 weeks I have had a car with some type of warning light. Week 1 I rented on Sunday and on Monday morning when I was 70 miles from the airport the lights came on. In this case it was just the reminder to change oil and check tires. I ignored and drove the car that week. Week 2 I arrived on a 9 p.m. flight early and was excited that I would get to my hotel early that night(again 70 miles away). I got the car all set up and got about 10 minutes from the airport and low tire message came on. I checked the status and found that 3 were at 37 psi and one was at 20 psi. As soon as possible I returned to the airport. The lot person was helpful and assisted with moving my luggage to the office. The office person looked at me like I was nuts and finally asked "did I want another car". I think that was the "duh" moment. He went out to get me another car, never offering to assist with luggage. I got to the new car and by the time the paperwork was done, car re-set up with bluetooth etc. I was back on the road nearly an hour past the first time I left. So much to early to bed. Two maintenance issues in 2 weeks is a bit much. They need to check the cars a bit closer before sending you on on the road to cause a hazard.
National kept the word as per their advertisement. It was simple and straightforward to pick up the car and return. A-Class!!!
Renting from National in Hartford CT was great. It was simple and took no time at all. Drop off was just as easy. Will definitely rent from National again.
I'd like to take a moment to tell all of you that National Car Rental is one I use often or let's say all the time. I love it when I go to National Car Rental from an airport and the people there are very nice, they help me put my luggage into the car that I choose. I love it that I get to just pick a car and then drive off with it and when I return it, there is always someone there to check on it and to help me with my luggage again. I've been lucky enough to get a clean car that I'm used to driving. I'm going to be renting two cars in two different states so we'll see how that goes, but I'm sure it will go well thank you very much for your service and the people that work for you.
